Electric ball valves are widely used in a variety of industrial fields, mainly used to cut off or connect the medium in the pipeline, and can also be used for fluid adjustment and control. It is a pipeline pressure component for industrial automation process control. Due to the particularity of the electric valve, the electric actuator is more likely to damage the motor or other parts due to the environment and internal reasons of the valve pipeline during use, which will affect the service life of the electric valve.


Therefore, proper and correct maintenance can effectively extend the service life of the electric ball valve, while also improving work efficiency, reducing downtime, and saving replacement costs.


Electric ball valve maintenance and maintenance


1. The electric ball valve should be stored in a dry and ventilated room, and both ends of the passage must be blocked.


2. Electric ball valves stored for a long time should be checked regularly to remove dirt and apply anti-rust oil on the processing surface.


3. After installation, the equipment should be checked regularly.


4. For the electric ball valve in operation, various valve parts should be complete and intact.


5. The bolts on the flange and the bracket are indispensable, the threads should be intact and no looseness is allowed.


6. The tightening nut on the handwheel should be tightened in time if it is found to be loose, so as not to wear the connection or lose the handwheel and nameplate.


7. If the handwheel is lost, it is not allowed to replace it with an adjustable wrench, and it should be equipped in time.


8. The packing gland is not allowed to be skewed or without pre-tightening gap.


9. For electric valves in an environment that is easily contaminated by rain, snow, dust, sand and other dirt, the valve stem should be equipped with a protective cover.


10. The scale on the electric ball valve should be complete, accurate and clear.


11. The lead seals, caps, and pneumatic accessories of the electric ball valve should be complete and intact. The insulation jacket should be free of dents and cracks.

In addition, electric ball valve actuators have special requirements, that is, they must be able to limit the torque (axial force) and the angle of rotation. When the specifications of the electric device are determined, its control torque is also determined. Generally, it runs within a predetermined time and the motor will not be overloaded. However, overload may occur if the following conditions occur:


First, the power supply voltage is low, and the required torque cannot be obtained, so that the motor stops rotating; second, the torque limit mechanism is set incorrectly to make it greater than the stopped torque. Causes the continuous generation of excessive torque, which causes the motor to stop rotating; third, intermittent use, the heat accumulation generated exceeds the allowable temperature rise of the motor; fourth, due to some reason, the torque limit mechanism circuit fails, causing the torque to be excessive Fifth, the use environment temperature is too high, which relatively reduces the thermal capacity of the motor.

1. The ambient temperature should be controlled within -25℃-70℃.


2. Explosion-proof electric ball valves should be selected for several situations, such as unstable current, environmental corrosion, flammable and explosive occasions, special media, long time no maintenance, etc.


3. Since the electric mechanism is relatively complicated, it should not be disassembled by itself when it fails to prevent accidents.


4. Under no circumstances should the electric ball valve be knocked or put the objects together.
