The maintenance of power station valves can generally be divided into two situations; storage and maintenance and use and maintenance.

1. Storage and maintenance
Improper storage is one of the important reasons for the damage of power station valves.
The power station valves should not be kept in random stacks. Small power station valves can be placed on the shelf, and large power station valves can be neatly arranged on the warehouse floor. Do not let the flange connection surface touch the ground. Protect the power station valve from being damaged.
Asbestos fillers should be taken out for power station valves that will not be used in the short term to avoid electrochemical corrosion and damage to the valve stem.
The power station valves that have just entered the warehouse should be inspected. If rainwater or dirt has entered during transportation, they should be wiped clean before being stored.
The processing surface of the power station valve that can rust in the atmosphere should be coated with anti-rust oil to protect it.
Outdoor power station valves must be covered with rain-proof and dust-proof items such as linoleum or tarpaulin. The warehouse where power station valves are stored should be kept clean and dry.

2. Use and maintenance
The purpose of maintenance is to extend the life of power station valves and ensure reliable opening and closing.
The thread of the valve stem often rubs against the nut of the valve stem, so a little bit of butter or graphite powder should be used for lubrication.
For power station valves that are not frequently opened and closed, turn the handwheel regularly to add lubricant to the valve stem threads to prevent seizure.
For outdoor power station valves, a protective sleeve should be added to the valve stem to prevent rain, snow, dust, and rust.
If the power station valve is mechanically driven, it is necessary to add lubricating oil to the gearbox on time and keep the power station valve clean.
Do not rely on power station valves to support other heavy objects, and do not stand on power station valves.
The valve stem, especially the threaded part, should be cleaned frequently and new lubricants should be added to prevent the hard debris in the dust from wearing the thread and the surface of the valve stem and affecting the service life.
